Queer Climate Futures

A Digital Archive of Oral History Interviews with Queer and Feminist Climate Justice Activists

My digital humanities project examines how contemporary feminist and queer climate justice activists conceptualize the connection between patriarchy and the climate crisis. This project analyzes how the underlying philosophy of these activists in the climate justice movement compares and contrasts with previous generations of ecofeminism. Using frameworks from feminist theory and the environmental humanities, the project helps us better understand the role of the climate justice movement in shaping the future of ecofeminist activism and philosophy. This digital humanities project also creates the first digital archive of oral history interviews with feminist and queer activists in the climate justice movement. This is a collaborative project with Dr. Ashton Wesner and community organizations. A preview of the project’s website can be viewed here: www.queerclimatefutures.com.

Why Should Feminists Care about the Climate Crisis?

These graphics are part of my collaboration with the intersectional climate justice organization, Our Climate Voices. From 2020-2022, I was the Director of the Gender Justice Project in which I curated stories from women, trans, non-binary, and gender-expansive people on the frontlines of climate change.
